The ICA is a new organization forming to lobby for fairness in Internet governance issues.  This is a direct response of Internet industry entrepreneurs to increasing abuses of power by ICANN.

From the ICA About page:

The Internet Commerce Association will bring together a diverse group of individuals and companies that own, buy, sell, resell and host internet traffic.

The Internet Commerce Association will promote the value and benefits of internet traffic and direct navigation by conducting a concentrated effort to educate advertisers on specialized traffic patterns allowing them to reach a larger market — and a more targeted market — on the internet than they would with any other form of non-internet based media (i.e., billboards, print ads, TV, radio, direct mail, etc.) faster, cheaper and much more efficient than other media options.

We will carefully watch and participate in the development of rules and regulations pertaining to the Internet as well as the dispute resolution process established by the United States government. We will promote fairness through our legislative agenda and we will communicate regularly with one voice on behalf of our members in Washington, D.C. and internationally.
