'jobs' search up significantly in 2008

Google Trends is showing keyword searches with the keyword ‘jobs’ are up significantly this year starting midway through the year when typically they should be declining based on historical patterns. News reference volume is also up significantly.

It’s an interesting little picture. Naturally, it’s anecdotal but still informative. Here is another interesting search: "unemployment benefits". It doesn’t have the nice annual cycle tell-tale, but funny things happen in 2008.

**es** that is curious, I would have expected it to mirror the ‘jobs’ trend! maybe,  there is a serious lag for ‘unemployment benefits’…
