Sedo has sold Resumes.com for $400,000 which makes it one of the 20 highest sales reported so far in 2009.
I started writing about domains in 2006 and since then the value of the right domain to your business has only grown. There is a window of opportunity open now that comes along once in a blue moon. If you came out of this recession with nothing other than a new category-killer domain, over the long run that could make up for all the pain and suffering of the last year.

Who was the buyer? Any idea of their plans for the domain? The job board association counts some 50,000 boards, so one more isn’t concerning to me and shouldn’t be to anyone else but these developments are often quite interesting to all of us in the industry.
**es** Steven, the name hasn’t been released…
Thanks Eric, definitely nice to see this for our biz. I recently got an unsolicited alert regarding this. http://www.websiteoutlook.com/www.accountingjobstoday.com Do you think there is much credibility to these types of evaluations?
To Ali, domain name is definitely important but almost as much is unique, relevant jobs and content. The search engines will find you.
**es** no, I don’t see much credibility there Todd.
It took me two full days of frustration to find a good domain name. I was surprised and realized how competitive recruitment industry is e.g. jobhive.com is already registered.
All most anything you can think of is already bought by someone else and parked.
But I finally managed to get jobs01.com
I am still not sure if this is a good domain name or not.
**es** I think that many of your visitors may mistakenly type in jobs101.com when they try to remember your domain…
